Editors from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London selected the essay dealing with the concept of the „informe“ in Czech context, which was originally published in the journal Umění/Art, for the anthology on modernism in East-Central-European visual arts. The essay focuses on connections between Czech surrealists and the strategies of the influential French theorist Georges Bataille in the 1930s.
