Various methods for pathogen inactivation were studied in this study. Lyophilized biologic agents – sporulating and non-sporulating bacteria – may be inactivated effectively and rapidly using hydrogen peroxide vapours (300–600 ppm) at elevated temperature (60 °C) without significant restraints of their subsequent detection and dentification using PCR or MALDI-TOF methods.
