    This contribution contains results of preliminary aerodynamic research on transonic turbine blade cascade with insertion, situated in the middle of the prismatic blade height in interblade channel, which represents model of tie-boss damping device. The results of measurement on a prismatic blade cascade without the tie-boss are compared with first data obtained from measurements with two different shapes of the tie-boss insertion. Independent methods of measurements were applied; optical methods (schlieren technique for prismatic blade cascade without insertion), pneumatic methods (3D traversing downstream the blade cascade with five-hole conical probe) and the methods of visualization of surface streamlines.
