We compare classical nucleation theory (CNT) with molecular simulations, the numerical solutions of kinetic equations, and experimental data in the case of vapor-liquid, resp. of liquid-solid phase transitions. It is shown that at lower supersaturation CNT approach to nucleation rate gives reasonable values. In small confined volumes nuclei are formed at higher supersaturation and CNT analytical approaches are not appropriate.
