Personal exposure to c-PAHs was analyzed in three industrial cities of the heavily polluted Moravian-Silesian region. The study groups consisted of office workers from Ostrava, and policemen from Karviná, Havířov and Prague (Prague served as a control locality). The results confirmed the elevated personal exposure to c-PAHs in the Ostrava region residents. Industrial sources, environmental tobacco smoke, home heating fuel (coal, wood) and traffic were found to be the main determinants of the exposure.
