    Monografija posvjaščena tvorčeskomu i žiznennomu puti prof. Karlova universiteta v Prage, izvestnogo istorika iskusstva N. L. Okuneva (1885–1949). Naučnyje trudy i kul'turnyje načinanija učenogo rassmotreny v kontekste dejatel'nosti rjada naučnych organizacij (Russkij archeologičeskij institut v Konstantinopole, Sankt-Peterburgskij universitet, Karlov universitet, Slavjanskij institut v Prage, Slavjanskaja biblioteka v Prage) i istorii krupnych naučnych meroprijatij (ekspedicii po drevnerusskim gorodam, na Balkanu, raskopki v Ani, restavracija fresok v cerkvi sv. Pantelejmona v Nerezi i Sofijskogo sobora v Ochride). Itogi raboty Okuneva predstavleny v neposredstvennoj svjazi so vsemi osnovnymi diskussijami v nauke pervoj poloviny 20. v. V monografii ocharakterizovan vklad Okuneva v mirovuju medievistiku, opredeleno jego mesto v istorii razvitija nauki. Rabota javljajetsja pervym monografičeskim issledovanijem na dannuju temu, ona vvodit v naučnyj oborot bolšoj objem materiala iz različnych archivov, neizvestnyje i maloizvestnyje raboty Okuneva, opublikovannyje v redkich i trudnodostupnych izdanijach.

    The monography concentrates on the life and work of Nikolai Lvovich Okunev (1885–1949), an important historian of art and representative of Medieval studies, Professor at Charles University in Prague. Okunev´s research work and his cultural involvement are presented in the thesis in the wide context of research activities of different institutions (Russian Archaeological Institute in Constantinople, University in Saint Petersburg, Charles University, Institute of Slavonic Studies and the Slavonic Library in Prague), history of important research expeditions (to Old Russian towns, Ottoman Armenia, the Balkans, the excavations at Ani in Armenia), the conservation work in the Church of St. Panteleimon at Nerezi and in the Church of St. Sophia in Ohrid. The outcome of Okunev´s scientific work is presented in the context of the principle scholar discussions during the first half of the 20th century. The autor tried to evaluate Okunev´s contribution to world-wide Medieval studies, estimate his role in the research development and progress.
