AnnotationExperiment with simulation of turbulent boundary layer was preformed in wind-channel. Two different geometries of canyons were tested – building with flat and triangle roof. The main interest of the project is to study an intermittent character of the flow inside the given street. Attention is paid to the main dynamical phenomena that have direct impact on flow regime in the canyon. More than 1600 snapshots are decomposed by Proper orthogonal decomposition (POD). POD from velocity reveals also the relative contribution of each mode to the TKE. The very first mode in our case contains 35% of global TKE. The same POD procedure was done with vorticity input instead of velocity vectors, however there was not found significant dominance in the modes.
