Auxin transport inhibitors (ATIs) interfere with directional auxin transport but the molecular mechanism of ATIs action has remained largely elusive. By using real time live cell microscopy, here we show that ATIs inhibit multiple vesicle trafficking processes in plant, yeast and mammalian cells. We also show how a common eukaryotic process of actin-based vesicle motility fulfils a plant-specific physiological role Workplace Institute of Microbiology Contact Eliška Spurná, eliska.spurna@biomed.cas.cz, Tel.: 241 062 231 Year of Publishing 2009
