A review deals with a pioneer monograph of the young English historian which focuses on one of the figures around Samuel Hartlib. The monograph is a valuable contribution to the detailed history of activities and thought of the Hartlib circle and brings many fresh insights to Comenius' contacts and collaboration with this group.
