In this book, the authors summarize the roots and development of the institution of informed consent before discussing in detail its meaning and purpose in both ethical and legal terms. Moreover, the monography includes a detailed analysis of its features and outlines the existing legal framework in the Czech Republic. It also shows some comparative studies of legal regulations in several European states and in the USA.
