A nemzetközi program Jan Patočka (1907-1977), a cseh és európai filozófia kiemelkedő alakját mutatja be képekben, dokumentumokban és a legfontosabb adatokkal. Patočka nem csak a csehszlovákiai intellektuális életben, de a Charta ’77 egyik megalapítójaként a közép-európai demokratikus ellenzék számára is meghatározó szerepet töltött be. A kiállítás a 45 éve elhunyt cseh filozófust mutatja be, egyben figyelmeztet a független és bátor gondolkodás szerepére a 20. századi közép-európai totalitárius rendszerek elleni küzdelmekben– egyúttal annak aktualitására is.

The international programme presents Jan Patočka (1907-1977), a prominent figure in Czech and European philosophy, with images, documents and key facts. Patočka played a decisive role not only in the intellectual life of Czechoslovakia, but also for the democratic opposition in Central Europe as one of the founders of Charter ’77. This exhibition presents the Czech philosopher, who died 45 years ago, and reminds us of the role of independent and courageous thinking in the struggle against totalitarian regimes in 20th century Central Europe - and its relevance.
