Tuto novou, neoliberální biopolitiku odlišuje od jejího historického předchůdce - biopolitiku devatenáctého a první poloviny dvacátého století, která se zaměřovala na větší celky - populace, třídy, národy. Neoliberální biopolitika se naopak zaměřuje převážně na individua, případně i menší jednotky typu rodiny, jejichž genofond se skrze rehabilitovanou eugeniku snaží vylepšovat. Text se snaží tuto transformaci chápat v širším kontextu proměn kapitalismu ke konci dvacátého století a polemizuje tedy s přístupy, které se pokouší novou, tzv. individualizovanou eugeniku obhájit s poukazem na její etickou a morální přijatelnost. Description in English The chapter is devoted to a specific form of contemporary biopolitics and its historical genesis. It distinguishes the new, neoliberal biopolitics from its historical predecessor - biopolitics of the nineteenth and of the first half of the twentieth century, which focused on bigger units - populations, classes, nations. Neoliberal biopolitics on the other hand focuses on individuals, resp. on smaller unities like families, whose gene pool it seeks to enhance through rehabilitated eugenics. The text attempts to conceive this transformation in the larger context of the modifications of the capitalism at the end of the twentieth century. By doing so, it argues against the approaches, which try to defend the new, so called individualized eugenics with a reference to its moral and ethical acceptability.
