We studied the photoluminescence (PL) enhancement of perovskite thin films by PL microscopy and compared the results with Fourier-transform photocurrent spectroscopy (FTPS) which was recently used to identify sharp absorption edge as the reason for the high material quality of perovskite films. In this study, we explore the absorption edge (defect density) and photo-current upon illumination. Surprisingly, even if the local electrical quality improves, the photo-current detected by FTPS decreases with illumination time. Furthermore, a microscopic model based on grain boundaries to explain the measured dependences is proposed.
