Nine push-pull aminopyridine derivatives were examined as model organic chromophores capable of intercalation into inorganic layered materials (alpha modification of zirconium hydrogen phosphate, zirconium 4 sulfophenylphosphonate, and gamma modification of titanium hydrogen phosphate).
