Její výzkum ukázal, že se jedná o ojedinělý a zatím málo známý typ šlechtické knihovny, která se pohybovala na pomezí ryze intelektuální a reprezentační knižní sbírky. Na základě akvizičních a čtenářských preferencí se proto autorka pokouší dešifrovat i dosud neznámý intelektuální horizont jejího majitele. Monografie přináší nejen první komplexní zpracování knihovny Becků z Leopoldsdorfu, ale představuje i první – byť dílčí pokus - o srovnání rozsáhlejšího souboru šlechtických knihoven habsburského soustátí druhé poloviny 16. století. Součástí monografie je také virtuální rekonstrukce beckovské knihovny formou jejího soupisu, který tvoří přílohu knihy. Description in English The monograph provides a detailed analysis of a previously unknown and in many respects unique collection of books from the end of the sixteenth century. The research has shown that this was a unique and little known type of aristocratic library that was somewhere on the dividing line between a purely intellectual collection and a prestige library. The author also attempts, on the basis of the library’s acquisitions and reader preferences, to decipher the previously unknown intellectual horizons of its owner. The monograph not merely provides the first comprehensive study of the Beck von Leopoldsdorf library, but also presents the first, if incomplete, attempt at comparing the large number of aristocratic libraries of the Habsburg Monarchy in the second half of the sixteenth century. The monograph also contains a virtual reconstruction of the Beck library in the form of an inventory that comprises a supplement to the book.
