Rezension von zwei wichtigen Arbeiten zum Thema Marxistische Geschichtsschreibung in der Zeit des tschechoslowakischen Stalinismus und Reformkommunismus . Der Autor behandelt die zwei verschieden methodologischen Sichtweisen beider Publikationen (sozio-kulturelle vs. politisch-intellektuelle Geschichte), ihre Stärken als auch Schwächen und verlangt mehr Aufmerksamkeit der Frage des „Nationalkommunismus“ in der Forschung zu widmen.

Review of two significant contributions to the history of Czech and Slovak Marxist historiography during Stalinism and reform Communism. The author discusses their different methodological approaches (social-cultural vs. political-intellectual), compares their strong and weak points, and calls for a turn towards the question of “national communism” in this field research.
