Tento článek si klade za cíl poukázat na možné funkce mahru z hlediska islámského práva a práva islámských zemí a přiblížit jeho právní úpravu v kontextu celého právního systému. Následně se věnuje analýze rozhodnutí soudů ve vybraných evropských zemích.

The aim of this article is to point out potential functions of mahr from the perspective of Islamic Law and law in Islamic countries and to introduce its legal regulation in the context of the whole legal system. Subsequently, the article analyses judicial decisions in selected European countries.
