Thermal processing was applied on 15Ch2MFA nuclear reactor steel samples, resulting in shift of their critical temperature of brittleness from -30oC up to +140oC. Considering these samples to simulate embrittlement of the steel as if caused by neutron irradiation, the series was subjected to the nondestructive method of Magnetic Adaptive Testing (MAT) and the results were compared with those of the destructive Charpy impact tests. MAT was found to be a highly sensitive multiparametric nondestructive way of indication of the reactor steel embrittlement.
