The aim of this communication is to treat state of the art and perspectives of both approaches to the preconcentration of elements forming analytically useful volatile compounds. It was also illustrated how the combination of the advanced hydride quartz atomizer (multiatomizer) with either cryogenic trapping with or with in-atomizer trapping can solve complex analytical problems.
