The use of special software in phonetic research has been rapidly increasing in the 90's. The software system have been developed from old MS-DOS software that was not very powerful and user-friendly, to modular and graphic-oriented software, which run under MS-WINDOWS or X-WINDOWS. This contribution describes new software systems designed for the research of synthetic and natural Czech speech.
