    AnnotationContinuum predictions for dislocation emission from a crack tip loaded under mode I, biaxial conditions, are compared with atomistic results for bcc iron. The simulations validate the continuum prediction that, as the T-stress increases, so does the threshold for dislocation nucleation; hence, the propensity for brittle response increases.
