AnnotationConcentration of conodont sample residues is more effective through upgrading of magnetic susceptibility before magnetic separation. The new method can substitute using heavy liquids for separation. The magnetic susceptibility of unwanted porous (silicatic and carbonate) rezidual particles is increased through precipitation of “limonite” in their pores after oxidation of Fe-rich solution. Majority of unwanted particles can be then easily eliminated during magnetic separation.
