Encyklopedické heslo přináší na základě nejnovějšího odborného bádání syntetické informace o jednom z nejslavnějších raně křesťanských mučednických textů, tzv. Passio Perpetuae et Felicitatis, z počátku 3. stol. po Kr. Probírá historiografii bádání, obsah textu a jeho zachované verze, jeho autorství a autenticitu, dataci, vztah latinského i řeckého znění, teologické implikace i jeho recepci a reinterpretaci v pozdější literatuře rané církve.

The encyclopaedic entry provides, on the basis of the latest research, synthetic information on one of the most famous early Christian martyrdom texts, the so-called Passio Perpetuae et Felicitatis, from the beginning of the 3rd century AD. It discusses the historiography of scholarship (both early modern and modern), the content of the text and its extant versions, its authorship and authenticity, its dating, the relationship of the Latin and Greek versions, its theological implications, and its reception and reinterpretation in the later literature of the Early Church.
