Description in English The study deals with the idealized notion of Old Slavonic democracy, which was developed and promoted by František Palacký, and shows that one important implication of this rather “mythical” notion consisted in rejecting and belittling the Greco-Roman antiquity as regards its importance for the history of freedom and human rights.
