Článek podává rozbor mezinárodních kongresů historických věd od Madridu 1990 po Poznaň 2022 se zřetelem k proměnám geopolitické situace, preferencím pořádajících států, vývoji metodologie atd. Řeší otázku po možnostech uplatnění malých a středně velkých evropských zemí jakožto organizátorů takovýchto kongresů, a hodnotí je jako příležitost a zároveň velkou zkoušku pro historiografie usilující o zapojení do souřadnic světové historiografie.

The article provides an analysis of the international congresses of historical sciences held between Madrid 1990 and Poznań 2022 with regard to the changes of the geopolitical situation, the preferences of the organizing countries, development of methodology etc. It raises the question of possibilities of smaller and medium-sized European countries in applying themselves as organizers of such congresses, and evaluates it as both an opportunity and a great test for historiographies that are striving for inclusion in the coordinates of the world historiography
