Výstava přibližuje několik hlavních témat spojených s počátky československého pronikání do Orientu, jež šlo ruku v ruce s rozvojem československé orientalistiky na Filozofické fakultě Univerzity Karlovy a vznikem Orientálního ústavu. Zahrnuje jednak vývoj seminářů a profesur na Filozofické fakultě Univerzity Karlovy i na Německé univerzitě v Praze a jednak československé hospodářské a kulturní pronikání do Orientu a cestování do těchto zemí v meziválečné době.

This exhibition presents several main themes related to the beginnings of Czechoslovak infiltration into the Orient, which went hand in hand with the development of Czechoslovak Oriental Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University and the establishment of the Oriental Institute in Prague. It covers not only the development of seminars and professorships at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University and the German University in Prague, but also Czechoslovak economic and cultural penetration of the Orient and the travelling to these countries in the interwar period.
