AnnotationVibrating tube density meters are frequently used in routine measurements. The instruments are often equiped with a cell for sound velocity measurement. The methodology of measurement is described in the operation manual and many papers contain recommedations how to achieve data with higher precision. This work is aimed to the study of importance of each aspect of the measurement procedures, effects of neglection of a viscosity correction as well as the magnitude of induced errors. Numerical values of all effects are presented. As a result of thorough analysis not yet published recommendations for best practice of density and sound velocity measurements are summarized.
