    Bats are the only group of mammals that combine the ability of active flight with controlled hypothermia. These two activities represent extremes that affect not only the origin of many unique physiological, anatomical and behavioural adaptations, but also the species diversity of bats . Their abilities may help them overcome the current increasing pressure of human society and the associated threats.
