This contribution focuses on ion generation rate by cosmic rays (G), which is one of the input parameters of Cloud Electrification Model (CEM). We developed CEM to explicitly describe the process of electrification in thunderclouds and our simulations of an idealized thundercloud showed that the resulting charge structure is influenced by G.
