AnnotationThe invention relates to composite membranes for separation of gas mixtures consisting of compact or porous or asymmetric polymeric support and a thin separation layer of conjugated polymers such as polypyrrole or polyaniline and their derivatives. The separation layer of conjugated polymers is prepared by adsorption of monomers on a support and their subsequent in situ polymerization, when the molecules of support and conjugated polymers interpenetrate to form a transition layer. The thus prepared composite membranes are chemically and mechanically stable for a long time.
