Der internationale Workshop untersuchte die Transformationsprozesse der Nationalisierung und Demokratisierung in Mittel- und Ostmitteleuropa zwischen 1917 und 1923 in ihren Verflechtungen von der internationalen bis lokalen Ebene zu problematisieren. Dabei wurdenvor allem Kontinuitäten und Brüche des politischen und gesellschaftlichen Wandels mit ihren Auswirkungen auf der bislang unterforschten lokalen und regionalen Ebene herausgearbeitet.

The international workshop analyzed transformational processes of nationalization and democratization in Central and East-Central Europe between 1917 and 1923 on international as well as local level. It dealt with continuities and ruptures of the political and social consequences of the transition.
