AnnotationHigher plant cells represent an important group of eukaryotes where discrete sites for microtubule nucleation are absent and microtubules are nucleated from disperse yet undefined cellular sites. Forms of gamma-tubulin associated with nuclei, membranes and microtubules were characterized in plant cells. Role of gamma-tubulin complexes is discussed and compared in mammalian cells equiped with centrosomes and in acentrosomal higher plant cells
