The methods for surface area measurement were demonstrated on 3D images acquired by confocal microscopy or electron tomography techniques. We compared the above stereological and image analysis methods for surface area estimation from the point of view of their applicability, efficiency and precision Workplace Institute of Physiology Contact Lucie Trajhanová, lucie.trajhanova@fgu.cas.cz, Tel.: 241 062 400 Year of Publishing 2009
