Principles of the preparation of gaseous mixtures of raw halides are shown, kinetic data on the reactions of oxidation of the halides are reported and thermophoretic deposition of aerosol particles and their sintering are described in the article. Finally, the collapse of the composite tube to a preform is discussed. Examples of using this metod for the fabrication of optical fibers are given.
