AnnotationPlant cuticle forms a transport-limiting barrier on the leaf surface of terrestrial plants. The leaf gas-exchange is controlled by the cuticle when stomata are closed. The efficiency of the control is estimated by permeability of cuticle for water. Kinetics of permeance of a radioactive labelled substance across cuticle is used to calculate the permeability.
