AnnotationMechanical properties and fatigue behaviour of ultrafine-grained materials during cyclic loading are not well described and understood. The paper presents experimental results on fatigue lifetime and cyclic plastic properties of ultrafine-grained copper prepared by equal channel angular pressing. It has been observed that fatigue loading did not result in a substantial change of ultraafine-grained microstructure. In spite of this the cyclic stress-strain response changes qualitatively in dependence on the stress amplitude.
