Článek popisuje dynamicky rekonfigurovatelné obvody FPGA, rozdíly návrhových metod oproti klasickým obvodům FPGA a hlavní klady a zápory této technologie.

Since 1993 FPGAs available on the market support modification of function of their parts without disturbing the function of the remaining part (so-called dynamic reconfiguration). Designs that make use of this feature have become very popular in academia. Still the industry only rarely uses these academic results for end products, and all experiments with fast switching of hardware contexts did not go further than a prototype. This paper briefly sketches the situation on the market of dynamically reconfigurable FPGAs. It shows different characteristics of the necessary design techniques compared to classical design techniques for FPGAs, and it also discusses main advantages and disadvantages of this technology.
