AnnotationWe compare and discuss the semiconductor nanoparticles such as magnesium silicide (Mg2Si), germanium (Ge), tin (Sn) and zinc oxide nanowires (ZnO), prepared by high vacuum evaporation and magnetron sputtering. The first three kinds of NPs were after deposition functionalized in situ by the plasma treatment methods. The ZnO nanoparticles were modified ex situ by the chemical method with application of semiconductor polymer poly(3-dodecylthiophene-2,5 dilyl). The resulting hybrid nano-composites were characterized by photoluminescence spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
