Sleduje, jakým způsobem se do tradice recepce tohoto autora promítl jeho (nikdy zcela neobjasněný, a proto dohady budící) pravděpodobně tragický životní konec na haličské frontě v první světové válce. Text na příkladu popularizačních literárněvědných textů pracujících s tímto tématem, konkrétně na traktování Gellnerova konce za použití jeho veršů, upozorňuje na jistá obecnější nebezpečí takto zacílených textů, vyplývající z jistě dobře míněné snahy o působivé podání. Description in English The paper is devoted to František Gellner’s after-life in cultural memory. It focuses on the ways in which the tradition of this author’s and his work’s reception has been affected by the probably tragic end of his life on the Galician front of the World War I (although circumstances of his death have stayed unclear and thus provoking speculations). Examining many popularising texts of literary science on František Gellner dealing with his death with the use of the author’s own verses, the paper points out some general dangers arising from the (surely well-intentioned) effort of such texts to be impressive.
