Článek se zabývá překladem latinského slova puer v nejstarším českém překladu bible, kolektivním překladatelském díle z půle 14. století. Na vzorku textů (1Rg, 4Rg, Mt, L) jsme zkoumali, jakým způsobem se středověcí překladatelé vyrovnali s polysémií slova puer, které může označovat „dítě“, „chlapce“ i „služebníka“.
This article deals with the translation of the Latin word puer in the oldest Czech translation of the Bible, a collective translation from the mid-14th century. Within sample texts (1Rg, 4Rg, Mt, L), it was explored how medieval translators dealt with polysemy of the word puer, which may refer to ‘child‘, ‘boy‘ and ‘servant‘.
