The catalytic activity of platinum catalysts in the total oxidation of methanol increased with increasing mean size of the Pt nanoparticles while the effect of the platinum loading was not observed. On the other hand, for palladium catalysts the catalytic activity in the same reaction increased with increasing Pd loading and did not correlate with the mean Pd particle size.
