The model of the bladed couple with friction element was numerically and experimentally investigated for a vibration suppression evaluation. The dynamics and contact problem of a blade couple with the friction element was modeled by a 3D FE model in ANSYS 11.0. It enables us to analyze the influence of dry friction contact at dynamics of the couple at a different loading, such as resonant forced vibration and free vibration after a short resonant loading. The results show nonlinear effect of the friction coupling namely in the case of macro-slip movements of the friction element in the blade shroud inter-space. The findings about damping ratio are in an agreement with the experimental observations.
