We showed that two consecutive square-wave temperature cycles with amplitudes of 2.5°C are with similar efficiency able to restart damped oscillations and entrain the circadian clock in fibroblasts derived from both spontaneously hypertensive rat and control Wistar rat. We described phase response curves to temperature cycles for fibroblast clock from both strains and concluded that despite slight resistance of SHR cells to temperature entrainment, the overall effect is too weak to be responsible for SHR circadian phenotype in vivo
