Atomic ordering at grain boundaries (GBs) in iron rich Fe-Si and Fe-Al alloys was studied using emission Mössbauer spectroscopy. The results on Fe-Si show differences in the chemical composition in grain interiors (GIs) and at GBs. An increase in Si concentration at GBs and atomic ordering corresponding to the D03 superstructure were found. GBs in Fe-Al samples exhibit more complicated phase and chemical composition. The components of the emission spectra can be interpreted as an inhomogeneous increase in Al concentration at GBs and a lower symmetry than the bcc lattice of GIs.
