    Three standard methods (physical adsorption of inert gases, mercury porosimetry and helium pycnometry) were used for determination of textural properties of hardened cement paste. Surface area, volume of micropores and mesopore-size distribution was calculated from physisorption isotherms of nitrogen. Pore-size distribution (incl. macropores), apparent density and total pore-volume volume were obtained from mercury porosimetry. True density necessary for porosity calculation followed from helium pycnometry. Principles of these methods and their applicability are described, too.
