Using this data, we simulated the effect of temperature-induced shift of cross-sections on high power thulium-doped fiber laser (TDFL) performance when clad-pumped at 790 nm. The simulations show considerable impact on TDFL threshold and efficiency for shorter fiber length. The effect is most apparent for amplifier setup, especially with strong amplified spontaneous emission Workplace Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics Contact Petr Vacek, vacek@ufe.cz, Tel.: 266 773 413, 266 773 438, 266 773 488 Year of Publishing 2024 Electronic address https://www.spiedigitallibrary.org/conference-proceedings-of-spie/12400/124000A/The-effect-of-temperature-dependence-of-thulium-cross-sections-on/10.1117/12.2647852.short
