One of possible interesting topics motivated by the investigation of plasma instabilities or fusion research is the self-generated magnetic field, appearing in plasma due to the Biermann battery effect containing the crossed-gradients of electron temperature and density. Here, we present a new model for magnetic field generation with a special focus on its second order of convergence. We describe the incorporation of the model into a Lagrangian/ALE approach and demonstrate its properties on selected numerical tests.
