AnnotationHydrodynamic simulations are very important for interpretation of experiments in laser-produced plasmas as it allows to investigate processes, which cannot be directly observed during the experiments. One of possible interesting topics motivated by the investigation of plasma instabilities or fusion research is the self-generated magnetic field, appearing in plasma due to the Biermann battery effect containing the crossed-gradients of electron temperature and density. Here, we present a new model for magnetic field generation with a special focus on its second order of convergence. We describe the incorporation of the model into a Lagrangian/ALE approach and demonstrate its properties on selected numerical tests.
