The paper presents the only Hebrew printing house in Moravia, which worked in Brno and briefly in Mikulov between 1753 and 1803. Analysis of the production showed that the press issued mostly liturgy and legal texts, but later also other genres, although in a smaller scale and marginally. Tracing the publishing strategies then shows that although the print shop had ambitions to overcome its status of peripheral and locally oriented print shop (e.g., by reprinting Enlightenment editions or striving to expand to a wider market), these were fulfilled only partially.
