AnnotationIn Czechia, historical geography has a strong position based on long-lasting existence of individual historical geographical schools, diversity of historical geographical research and continuity of platforms for meetings of historical geographers. Czech historical geography on the threshold of the third millennium is a discipline which can greatly affect creation and protection of the contemporary landscape by viewing its historical connections with the past and thus contribute to its development. Historical geography puts stress on studying interactions of people with their living environment, teaches to perceive, understand and grasp the rules of their mutual coexistence and acknowledge the time depth of this relationship.
