Annotation	Přednáška podala přehledný vývoj českého orientalistického pracoviště od jeho založení v roce 1922 do současnosti a jeho členění do několika vývojových fází korespondujících s politickým vývojem Československa a České republiky během posledních sta let: sdružení s badatelskou a hospodářskou sekcí v meziválečném období, centrum studia orientálních jazyků v období protektorátu, badateská institutce v rámci poválečné ČSAV, normalizační období a transformace po roce 1989.
Description in English	The lecture presented a general overview of the development and uninterrupted activity of the Oriental Institute, Prague, in the field of Czech oriental studies during the last hundred years. Several phases corresponding with the political developments of the times and delineated in the presentation included its interwar character as a scholarly and commercial association, its war transformation into a school of languages, and its post-war remodeling into a full-fledged scholarly institution integrated in the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences. Attention was also paid to the so-called normalization period 1969 to 1989 and another transformation after the Velvet revolution.
